I doubt it.That is usually for disabled people.It is your responsibility to support your kids.Maybe you would qualify for some welfare,but that would be it.

Social Security and SSI are for adults and children that are disabled or for children who have one or both parents deceased. If the kids have qualifying disabilites, then they may be able to get it but not because the father is in jail. If that happened, Social Security would be gone a lot faster than we are already afraid of.

SSI and SSDI are awarded to people with disabilities disabilities that make them unable to work for 12 months or more.

If the child has a disability s/he may be eligible for SSI if the total family income is under eligibility thresholds. If a parent is on SSDI, a child is eligible whether s/he is disabled or not.
