i installed my roommate's copy of world of warcraft and i was wondering if i am able to buy an access key from blizzard so that i can have my own account.

You need to buy the game itself ($19.99). What you should do is have your roommate give you a trial key (he can "invite a friend" from www.worldofwarcraft.com ), then you get 10 days free. Then upgrade your account for 19.99 and you get another 30 free days.
You can either upgrade the acct by upgrading it online via acct. management, or by buying the game in store or online.
And no, you should NOT play runescape. WoW is SOOOO much better than Runescape it's not even funny. Look at my face. I'm not laughing!!

You must buy the game for the Serial Code or you must use your friends account but does not work if account loged on 2 times at different computers. Just buy the game, where im at its $20 for 1 month membership plus game. Then if you have a yard sale or somesort sell it.
