I think that the people who are shouting for abstinence obviously don't understand very much about human biology
we are driven to have sex by our biological mechanisms - FACT!
abstinance is NOT the answer HOWEVER, and some people have made very good points that people would rely on Government funded abortions as a means of post contraception...but hey, it already exists, it's called the morning after pill!
Education is the key to prevent unwanted pregnancies...condoms ARE free, you can get lots free by popping down to your local family clinic or from your doctor
and condoms arent the only method of contraception out there, there are plenty.
and accidents DO happen, condoms split or if not worn correctly, come off during sex and that is why EDUCATION is of more importance than funding for abortions.
Abortion should NOT be the answer of careless uneducated people.

Where I live, it already is a widely available alternative and from what I've heard, the government already does gladly pay for it. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of unwanted pregnancies or abortions, so I don't have a strong opinion either way.

im not going to say if im for or against abortion so im gonna try and be neutral about this however, why should our government pay for abortions for people's decision to have unprotected sex? if people dont want to have children they should take the precautions to avoid being pregnant or even the chance of it. (whether they use birth control, condoms,or even abstinence).
Also I think people forget there are other options besides assuming abortion is the number one solution to an unwanted pregnancy. They can choose to keep it and accept they made their bed and lay in it, they can give it up for adoption to a family who cant have children for whatever reason they may be or they can choose abortion if they so choose to go that route.

I think that you have the right to choose!! Yes I'm pro choice! You have the right to choose to take birth control you have the right to choose to use a condom you have the right to choose to not have sex! however no one but god had the right to choose to end a life! If the government payed for abortion they would be assisting murder! you are a life from conception you have a blue print of life what color your eyes will be whether or not you will have dimpled cheeks..everything is decided form the exact moment the egg and sperm share there information...I think that if you don't' want the child then adoption is the best answer just don't wait till the child is 8 years old and it's too late. There are waiting lists years long of family's who want a baby that are just waiting for there chance to love another little human...

I do not think that the government should pay for abortions because women have options to take birth controls, to avoid getting pregnant. That is the women's responsibilty not the governments.
If a women is raped that is a different situation and it is not the womens fault and the government should help...

I agree that it should always be a choice however, if you know anything about what is going on in our country, that money should not be used so that girls can use abortion as a birth control method, when the governments money can be used for starving children, the eldery, Funds for the needy, disasters, and other important issues. Women have to face the consequnce for "accidently" forgetting to use a condom, or forgetting to go see a OB for birth control. Its never an accident..women know damn well what they are doing, you dont just slip onto the man and oops what happened? No, the funds should not be realesed so girls can be more careless without worry .

I'm sorry that I don't agree. I think a woman's choice is whether or not to have sex with a man and vice versa. You know what can happen and you took the risk. No child should be considered an accident or a mistake. The adults make the mistakes. You have to be an adult and deal with it. Get a job. Get 3 jobs if you have need to. It's time to grow up and stop thinking about yourself.

Pro- choice, definitely, though I lean more towards not using abortion for birth control. However, I DO NOT believe the government should pay for it. Just remember, if it comes from the government, it comes out of YOUR pocket!

there is no such thing as an accidental pregnacy.... you either plan to get pregant and have unprotected sex or you dont plan it and still have unproteced sex... if you don't want a baby then dont have unproteced sex or just don't have sex at all cuz we all know that condoms and birth control don't always work... as for abortion i don't believe in it even if you don't want your baby there are millions of worthy couples in this world who want children but for some reason can't produce their own biologicaly... i do however think that if the pregnacy will any way cause harm to the mother or baby's welfare then maybe if there is no other way out should abortion be an option in which case your health insurance company would have to pay for it because the doctor is the one ordering it...

I think that abortion is wrong - murder basically. I say if you don't want to get pregnant either use birth control or don't have sex all together. If you "accidentally" get pregnant you should take that as a sign from God that you ARE meant to have a baby, and have him right now. God has perfect timing, there are no mistakes. Everything happened for a reason as he intends it to.
