I am supposing that there is an answer. Why are we here? What is our purpose? I really would not like answers such as "to go to heaven" because there is no such thing. In any case, what is our purpose here on this earth while we are alive?

The meaning of life can be defined by "feelings" This is the only thing humans relate life too, and can be defined as the limit of the human experience.

Fear, love, hate, anger, joy, happiness, etc., represent the expression of our inner core of consiousness, that is, thinking, being, etc.

Whenever we hit the this outer limit i.e., "feelings", we experience life. Whatever the real meaning of these feelings are, they could be possibly be the boundary between the phyical plane and the spiritual plane.

That is why people who say they get spiritual about something may just be experiencing an "emotional" high.

As humans we think of ourselves as the end of the line in evolution. As such we feel that our lives as individuals must have some greater meaning. When we consider that we as a species comprise a given percentage of the biomass based on our consumption as top predator this is an easy trap to fall into. The true meaning of life should be considered from the perspective of the biomass itself. We as humans have been around as a numerical percentage of the biomass for a relatively short span of time. Especially considering the length of time the biomass itself has been present on this planet as a "consistent mass". We are nothing more then an expression of the biomass. Another permutation that it's created in it's own game of survival and expansion. For the question to be relevant it must be asked "What is the desired goal of the biomass"? In this context the answer is simplicity itself. The goal is to expand beyond the confines of the planetary biosphere. To achieve this goal it is necessary to create a permutation capable of designing the next stage of evolutionary consciousness and humans with their mechanical ingenuity seem well equipped to do so. If, in fact, they don't destroy themselves in the process. It's been said that necessity is the mother of invention. The biomass is counting on that. That's why we were created so virulent.

The purpose of man is the same as it was to begin with, but has been off track for some time (in our eyes). When God purposes anything, He always sees it through to its finish. Since a day to Him is likened to what we view as 1,000 years, many don't feel he's responded fast enough, or that he's dead, considering the world's horrifically distressed condition. But, that is our limited view of things. The purpose to have excellent health, perfect happiness, meaningful & enjoyable work, trustworthy companions & friends, and peaceful relations with all of earth's other creatures ... that is still God's goal for mankind. Being made in God's image, to bring glory to Him, and to enjoy every second of life. He is a happy God, and He wants to share that happiness with many others! To that end, do you think we ought to make it our purpose in life to cooperate with His purpose for us? (I certainly do!)

This hope is held out only for those who come to Truly Appreciate that He is Not the unjust, cruel, tyrant that Christendom's churches have long painted him to be! Also --since Science is finally admitting that facts Do gibe Perfectly with Actual Bible teachings (not man's or religion's assumptions)-- what reasonable excuse is there not to learn those facts?

The meaning of life? What a simple question!
All life starts from Gaia, the spirit of the Earth.
Each individual part of it forms a life force; a living thing. The purpose of the creation of these life forms is for Gaia to gain knowledge and power. Gaia has no real control over these things that it creates but it can control what happens to us when we die. For example, it may take the knowledge and experience of Ghandhi over the experiences of a life-long murderer. Gaia can recreate a life form that it particularly likes and "send it up" to begin again.

Nice to know you're already sure of one answer - "there is no heaven".
Keep on eliminating things - no heaven/hell; no point in family relationships/finding right man or woman to share your 'life' with; no point struggling with job just to pile up money "you can't take with you" (but you're not going anywhere after death, anyway); etc.
Your ? is negative. Try looking at positives - what can I do, while filling in time between crying out my first breath and breathing out my last, that will mean I'm remembered!

The meaning of life is up to the one living the life to decide. The definition is endless and varies from human to human. The purpose of life is to learn as much as you can while living on this big rock floating through space.

There is an answer. That is what you are here for. The answer is different for everyone. We are all here of different races, different religion, different personalities and different looks. I guess the creator is as different too, since we are made in that image. So, you must find which path is yours to follow and let noone tell you. Sit and be still and empty your mind of all you were taught and listen to what is left. And just when you think you have driven yourself crazy it will come to you.

If you don't believe in heaven...life is what you make it, your purpose is what you make it.
Simply put, you are here because of your parents, and as a grown adult, searching for life's meaning...look inward if you don't look into religion...it is up to you to define the meaning of your life.
