Hi,

Have you tried charting your cycle? Getting pregnant is actually really diffiicult - the most you have is a 24 hour window!

Take your temperature every morning when you wake up. It will rise slightly when you ovulate and stay higher until your next period. Once released your egg is viable for fertilisation for 12-24 hours only!

Also keep an eye on your mucus. It will become stretchy like egg white as you approach ovulation. Sperm can survive for a max. of 5 days in this more fertile mucus.

It is recommended to have intercourse every other day for a week before ovulation and a few days after.

You can chart your cycle online with FertilityFriend.com. The charity LIFE UK also offers a fertility awareness course which I think would be really beneficial to you.

Mostly, try not to worry though. Stress can delay ovulation. Also make sure you are taking pre-natal vitamins.

Good luck and keep trying!

There is always the chance you could get pregnant. A close friend of mine had been trying for quite a while and after a depression she said F this I'll just take it easy for a while. She did and from that day on she found it easier. Her fella was putting up with a lot from her and she'll say this herself. The pressure was there to concieve and love became sex. The relationship was at a decline when she decided to say F it. That was after a year and a half of trying. Sex became love again and still no baby but that was now ok. Another year and she discovers she's pregnant. It happened for her and happens for others out there. You hang in there, It'll happen to you.

Good luck and remember to live in the moment, try to enjoy what you have now. A marriage and a great husband. The rest will follow but you need to take care of yourself for this moment.

If you hve been having unprotected sex for 8 months or more and have not gotten pregnant, you should see an ob-gyn doctor or fertility specialist. Since time is of the essence when it comes to conception, you do not want precious time to go by without determining whether there is another issue.

The most accurate way for a woman to determine if and when ovulation occurs is to use an ovulation predictor kit (OPK). An OPK indicates when ovulation is about to happen by detecting the midcycle surge of the hormone LH (luteinizing hormone). The high level of LH stimulates the release of a mature egg from the dominant ovarian follicle. Two reliable ovulation predictor kits are Clear Plan Easy and First Response.

How long have you been trying? It can take years to conceive and stress will delay it even more so you and your partner need to calm down and relax. Smoking and drinking can also delay it, this is very common with couples but if you are worried you should see a doctor and they will tell you what to do and what not to do to concieve and have a healthy pregnancy. Good luck!

It is not clear how long you have been married.Only at least after one year continuous staying together and regular sex you can conclude you have some problem. If you donot stay together, start staying together. If you have been together continuosly for long both of you have to see doctor.Man and woman may be equally responsible.Seman count has to be done.Detailed investigation of uterus etc may be needed.First you avoid all tensions.Minor problems may cause difficulties.Do not worry and consult a specialist.Good luck

You have to go get the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler!! It is awesome and has helped many women learn their cycles and get pregnant! It helped me get pregnant on the first try with both of my boys.

Very common, my friend had many problems for 2 years, she had a break and took her mind off it, and suddenly it happened right away, i would relax and give yourself a little break. I am sure things will happen for you soon. XXX
