Because his body isn't ready, and he's the type of player that needs arpund 20 shots a game to be most effective. He's still getting like 12 minutes per game, which is good for a rookie, but the Magic can't have him running the team as he did at Duke, he's simply too inexperienced. But he's got a bright future...

Because he doesn't play defense worth a crud, he's slow and all he can do is shoot. Basically, he's the new Steve Kerr (if he's lucky). That's not a bad thing...every team needs a gunner like that, but he'll never be the player he was at Duke. Remember Trajan Langdan anyone?

he is back from injury-although he may still be recovering, he prob isnt playing because he isnt suited for the NBA style of play
the magic have a great nucleus built around Dwight Howard, and Redick simply wont be as good as he was as a Blue Devil under Coach K
look for his minutes to gradually increase, but at the season's end he will only be seeing around 14 mins/game with that talented magic team

because they don't allow crybabies in the NBA... remember when they played the last round of final four, and they lost... JJ cried. Sorry, but i strongly hate duke and any of its former, present or future players.=)
no seriously i don't keep up w/ the nba...i don't know why he's not playing
