My boyfriends father and his life partner make plenty of money and buy whatever they want when they want it. So we have the hardest time decided what to get them for Christmas. They dont need anything and if they do they get it themselves. All they do is travel and drink????

Give them something personal every few years. Other than that, a gift that means something to you. What hobbies do they have, what shows do they like, do they collect certain things? Have they mentioned places you can send them back to, perhaps a personal spot that they met at, etc.?

I'm always listening to people, trying to listen for what they want, where they want to go, what they like to read, etc., for new ideas.

Thinking of the gift should be fun!

I'm a middle aged gay man. I think some of the suggestions here are great.

You say they drink so wine is nice

If they travel something to make their trips better or more memorable. Maybe a subscription to Gay Traveler, or another travel magazine, or a photo album.

How about gift certificates to a spa day for them both? My ex and I did this a couple years ago and it was great...hair cut, massage, manicure.....mmmmmm

Well you've gotten some really good ideas already. Most of the gay men I know are really classy and love gourmet food, food is so nurturing (course I'm Italian and a chef so I'm a little biased here) but I would probablly do a gourmet dinner basket, complete w/ wine and candles (depending on any spending limits you have)
Good luck...

Ask them what they want. Does it really matter whether they're gay or not? Maybe you should get them some sort of fancy wine if they like to drink, or some souvinear from travelling. Or a gift card! Or money. Money is the last solution though always a good one.

What about a really nice frame with a picture, of their son and their son's girlfriend in it?
Do they have a pet? when I am stumped for gift ideas for pet lovers, I get their pet a gift basket. ( example(dog) nice basket, a few toys, some chewies, specialty cookies, etc)
Do they have any hobbies? gardening? books? film? music? if so books, music, gardening tools, film memorabilia, all good gifts.
Do they have a favorite movie? find them a poster from it.
Another good choice is many spa's have couple packages, a fun way for them to spend a afternoon together.
hope this helps you some.

Hello, I am a gay male myself and think that my input might be of help to you. Everyone gay man loves candles, shot glasses, fancy drink glasses, and underwear... not cheap novelty ones, but like... catalog underwear.... if buying underwear makes you uncomfortable.... get them a big scrap book and scrap book supplies... just try to stray away from anything decorative, gay men are anal about thier house, and decorations. or gift certificates for a salon or massage...

Try to get them a nice edition of the Armistead Maupin novels or stories, first edition would be cool.

They like to travel? Get them a couple of travel pillows, a set of luggage, coupons to places that are in airports. Do your research on the airports they'll pass through.

A personalized photo album/scrapbook for all of their travel pictures etc.

If you can afford it, go for something unique, a piece of art, comforter or blanket for the bed, etc.

Or a special Christmas ornament or decoration.

If you can't find anything, calendars always work.
