You could put a "free classifieds" or "free website links directory" on your website. I've just started one of each on mine - the links directory is picking up a few entries and hopefully there'll be some more classifieds soon.

I am creating a FREE GADGETS section / page which will contain free gadgets to be added ones website or given away. Also links to affiliates site and links back to my sites. The free stuff seems to move up the search engines well. Also link back on all affiliates.
just one quick idea I am on to currently.

Not sure what kind of advertising you're looking for, but one of the best and least expensive (free) is utilizing free classified advertising.
