I have old & not so old World coins. Some {Mexico, South Amer., etc.} of these coins have been discontinued or are no longer in use, so how do I find out if they are current to exchange rate, collector coins, or crap not worth the material it's stamped on. Still trying to figure out what some of the countries are and where the coins were minted for. PLEASE don't send me to a place to buy information to regarding this ??? and, don't tell me to download trial ware, and go to the library to research this. That's What This box and the Internet is for. THanks. Most coins date mid-40s to late 70's. Some Mexican $$ from 1984.

Mexico: All coins and banknotes dated 1992 or earlier are the old pesos, which are worth 1/1000 of the current peso.
Here is a link to the Banco de Mexico website (OK, it's in Spanish. The Tipo AA and Tipo A notes are the old type and have been demonetized)

Some older coins may be silver and have collector value. You may contact me with specific questions.
