In other countries military service IS mandantory for at least 2 years for all able bodied people, men or women.
It would serve to teach some much needed job skills and maybe some people would not have the desperation that makes them commit crimes. This is my humble opinion, I wish I had been able to go in but I am "4-F"

it should have been done a long long time ago the worst thing that has happened to our military is an all volunteer army. We have people here in American screaming for rights cause they illegally crossed the border and think as most does that America owes them, then we have the selfish brats here that thing the same thing, we also have the gangs from other countries ect. like MS-13 that always want to do wrong but scream when it goes the other way toward them, it would not harm us at all to have a draft again in fact with the leaders that we have in power eventually we will have to go to it any how as they seem to want to pre-emptive strikes against anyone that does not share the same views. It would be good for america and better if this time around there is not any exemption for the rich man's sons or daughters ,might make politicans seek other ways to resolve conflicts if that was so.

ONE lawmaker in Congress wants to bring back the draft, but it's ONLY to make a point. IF it comes to a vote on the floor of the House, HE will, along with almost everybody else, vote against it.
The Selective Service System is already active. All men, at age 18, are required to register with selective service.

I think that unless their families would be chosen first to go, then I am against it.
The idea of someone stripping my child away from me or my husband to fight for what the president thinks is "best" for our country is awlful.
Let the united states citizens vote yes or no to it, let the mothers fathers choose.
When we are being run by a president that doesn't care what we think, then I am totally against the idea.
Yes I do think there is justification to the Iraq war and the war on terror however I also feel that it is being controled by the wrong people, let the military experts decide who, how much, where and when to fight not Bush... what war did he fight in?
by the way I came as close as signing on dotted line to going in the air force 10 years ago.... THANK GOD i didn't!

I thinh that the sons and daughters of ALL politicians should be drafted into front line combat units before the son or daughter of anyone is drafted!!!!!!!!! Put the bush daughters in bagdad in a unit and lets see how long it takes for us to pull out.

That should have been the first order of business 9/12/01.
The second thing should have been comprehensive Civil Defense.

I think it would do the young men of this country alot of good. For one thing they don't know how to treat a lady or there elders. Most young men are out for one thing. Me myself and I , oh that's 3 things. The army would shape them up and make gentlemen out of them. Lets see one of them try to tell d the drill Sargent what to do.
