Like usually people try and look like they have everything together on the outside, but on the inside they're a total wreck. For some reason I want people to feel sorry for me. I dont know why. I dont want to be that kind of person. How do I not be that kind of person who desires to be pitied and who pities themself?

Don't be afraid to show the wreck on the inside. Most people use a lot of energy trying to supress all those feeling they have. They should be finding an outlet for them instead. Music, reading, nature, hobbies, people the outlets are endless really. Sounds like you want people to feel sorry for you because you feel like you have to hide your feelings and if people feel sorry for you then you feel understood or validated. I mean I feel sorry for myself and then I realize that it's up to me to do something about it. So try and realize that it's your life and you can't expect others to make you feel any better. You have to work it all out and make your own decisions.
You need to ask yourself why you feel this way. Find the pattern by writing down all the reasons you feel sorry for yourself and what you want other people to feel sorry for.
Then ask yourself what you can do to solve these problems. Where there is a will there is a way. Are you willign to find the way no matter what? I hope so and if you are nothing will stop you. No one is normal and everyone has problems. Don't freak out if life goes wrong if your a failure. Just keep on trying because that's really all anyone can do. And if you need help with this send me an email and I'll do what I can.

I personally have found that self pity is more an attention seeker than a cry for help. The best way to solve such a problem is to seek attention in a different way, such as through showing great dedication to the things you do best. That way, others will recognize your greatest strengths and you will build confidence and perhaps become a little more independent. Just my opinion

Just think about how much more annoying you are if you are self-pitying. Try to channel that pity into a different kind of energy: anger, dedication to a task, or the will to exercise work well.
