This is for a debate in my gender communications class. The three main reasons I have already are:

They have higher paying jobs
They have higher status/position at work
They get promoted faster

Anyone else have something new to add?

I'm looking for reasons that I can do research for... or will have sufficient amount of evidence that I can find.

Don't forget to mention WHY men generally have higher positions & pay: they aren't taking time off to gestate or care for infants, and therefore they are able to devote time to work.

They typically don't leave their companies scrambling for temporaries (not to mention the expense of training them), nor do they contnually take time off for child-related situations.

Women often argue against this reasoning, but, the rough fact is that people who put in time on the job are promoted to high positions; women with children can't do this.

I'm a woman, by the way.
