well, you're still at an age when everything in your body could still be growing and developing. What you feed your body with now could sustain you for life, so you would'nt want to deprive it of anything , would you? I would say, be more active, get involved in sports, maybe tennis, or something. Just don't eat too many sweet or fatty foods and stay off soda.

Well, I'm certainly not a doctor, but I do remember being a 13 year old girl! If you are wanting to lose weight, the best way to go about it is eating healthy foods (fresh foods and veggies are great! T.V dinners, fast food, and spaghettio's aren't so good for ya!) and get active. (Eating healthy and exercising is good for everyone- whether you're trying to lose weight or not!) Even though it's not everyone's favorite thing to do, running is probably the best way to tone up and slim down at the same time. Whatever you do, don't make any drastic changes. Don't push yourself so hard that you jeopardize your health or well-being. Take it slow at first, don't run until you fall over from exhaustion. Drink lots of water, too! Maybe even talk with your gym teacher at school and see what they recommend. (Talking to your doctor wouldn't be a bad idea, either.) Most of all, just make sure to take care of YOURSELF, no matter what you do.

Good carbs like celery and carrots will never make you fat. Bad carbs like cake will, but you don't need to know the whole science of glycemic index and load. See site below. You need to re-learn how to eat so you can become thin and healthy. Not a diet, but diet lifestyle.
Find out about fastest way to lose weight, gradual ways to lose weight, most effective exercise, good and bad carbs and anti-water. Lose bodyfat and retained water which also makes you a lot fatter (bloated). Links page has gov. BMI calculater to find out just how much overweight you are (teens plug in your age to compare to others your age). Most important-- make sure to read the last "fat loss tip", first before anything else, to see the number one food that causes Americans to be fat. Take 5 minutes to read teen advice first then click on home page.

Unless you're really overweight, like into the plus sizes and your doctor has said so, dieting at thirteen is really a bad idea. You're growing, and if you don't get enough protein and calcium now, you could end up shorter than you would be if you had enough calories to grow to your full potential. If you must 'diet', go with Canada's food guide, and get lots of lean protein, fruits and veggies and whole grains, and lay off the junk food, sugary things, pop, and fried anything. Be healthy, not super-skinny.

im 14 and what i do when i want to loose weight is eat more fruit and vegtibles and less candy and sugar. im not saying that you cant eat anything with sugar just limit it. and i like to drink lots of water it fills you up so you eat less and still feel full.( i like flavored dasani water it has 0 calories and still tastes good) and exercise you can go to the website for seventeen and find great excercises and you can go to the gym both are good. i also walk home from school somethimes (it takes me about 40 minutes to walk home). i wouldent try pills they make you feel like crap or they make you crap a lot and you can get addicted to the caffiene that is in most of them ( i got addicted to caffiene pills) and with most diet pills right after you quit taking them you gain back all the weight and sometimes more.
