Our band plays Bluegrass music. We have just made a CD and are getting ready to market it. Any ideas who or where to market it too?

You could do some research and send the CD to some managers and agents that handle bluegrass and country artists.

However, if you have a little working capital, you might want to consider direct marketing. Put a 2 or 3 minute video package together and buy air time on some of the cable channels. You can start cheap with air time in the middle of the night, but hey, some people are awake then, too. It will help to refer people who want to purchase your CD to a website where you have credit card capability. For telephone orders, hire an exchange service.

I look at it this way, if Andy Griffith can sell his CD of well-loved hymns through direct marketing, you can, too!

And you probably sound better. . .

In the music biz it's all about luck, being in the right place at the right time.
