Question about installation of an Ultra Fire cooling fan on a socket 939?

I reciently purchased a new motherboard with a 939 zif socket and a I am having trouble installing my Ultra Fire cooling fan. I feel that excessive force is needed to get the clips attached to the base. Here is the question...I noticed that there are two screws that hold the base to the mother board. Should I loosen these screws some to reduce the ammount of pressure needed and then retighten them?

ya, try to loose them a bit so that you can easily attach it , but be careful that it is not too loose.
