Me: I always through salt over my shoulder if spilled. I won't walk under ladders. I absolutely FREAK if my kids open an umbrella inside. I am very careful with mirrors. It bugs me if a black cat crosses my path. I never void a mistake on a lottery ticket. And never kill a ladybug or daddy long legs.

And a guy that used to work for me wouldn't take sissors out of your hand. If he needed them, you would have to set them down - he wouldn't take them from you.....apparently it's bad luck.

Also, NEVER put new shoes on the table. They have to be worn first

I throw salt over my shoulder when I spill it like you! I avoid walking under ladders, but that's more because I'm afraid of tripping and knocking down the ladder!

I guess you could say I'm superstitious about tempting fate. I work as a telephone counselor and we get all types of calls. Once I said to a friend that I had never had a missing person call and that very afternoon (after six months of work), I had two! A few times I made the mistake of saying I hadn't had a crisis call for a while, and you can guess what happened! Well, maybe these comments just made me more alert, but you bet I don't say I haven't had a crisis call for a while anymore!

44 is a bad number for me. When I see lots of this number in a day, I get nervous and it seems like something bad happens afterwards. Almost like it's a warning. I developed this over the years. Before that, I never had any superstitions and thought superstitions were stupid really. Weird huh?

If a bird is in a house I dont want to see it I have always been told it is a bad omen: a sign that death is coming. Sounds crazy but the other day my back door got left open and one came in the house and my son came in and told me and I wouldnt even go look.

Superstition, Is something that some people have been taught or choose to believe are true. When in fact they are no where near being true, in any sense of the word. Also the human brain is powerful enough that it can make things happen in spite of these superstition being false................

I never use scissors without cutting something. As in I don't go around going click click click in midair with nothing to cut. I don't know why, I heard it's bad luck.
