Well it isn`t only blacks and mexicans here where I live. I see white people too. My daughter and her sons donate time to ring the bell for the Salvation Army and she is a successful manager for a large corporation. We support the Salvation Army in our entire family so the less fortunate will be blessed.

It depends what neighborhood the salvation army is located in. I am black and at one time I lived near Galveston, Texas. The town was majority white. There were more white people in the Salvation Army than any other ethnic group. Also the clinic where I took Chest X-rays use to take AIDS patients, people on disability, psych patients, night club workers (strippers), and people from the Salvation Army - once again the majority of our patients were white. Also I grew up in a mostly white upper-middle class community in Maryland, and the majority of the drugs addicts I met were white girls who borrowed their parents Marajuana Bongs, prescription drugs, and alcohol from their parents liquor cabinets. They just happened to have more money to pay for proper treatment. Also, there is a juvenile treatment facility in Montgomery County, MD that houses young white teenagers that have been sexually abused by their families, and cannot function normally in regular high-schools. This treatment facility is kept very quiet because most of those kids come from well-to-do families. These kids upon graduating from this facility will either fend for themselves in the streets, on fall back on their families money for continued treatment. Demographics plays an important role in all aspects of society.

I live in the ATL. I have called and called but not getting any where with anyone. I'm white but the people I leave messages for I don't say hey I'm white and need help. I think people that know the system get in and take advantage. This year I even called untied way and that was a joke. No Christmas for my kids this year:( When I get some money will never give to anyone with their hand out or kettle!

You should stop worrying about what color people are there and do whatever you are there to do. If you don't want to work or be a volunteer there then don't do it because people really do not need your biased opinion. Last time I checked there were poor people of every race and color living in the United States and not just Blacks and Mexicans. You don't know what people are going through or why they are there and instead of criticizing them you should go talk to one of them and find out there story. I hope God blesses you and open your eyes to the real world.

I worked for a salavation army and every race is present for Christmas and other holidays. Don't discriminate. The Salvation Army helps out to low-income families for the holidays. That means ANY ethnic group.

I see all different types of people at the salvation army. This cannot be a serious question....or you are a very sheltered person.

I think maybe the area you are in. I grew up in the Salvation Army ministry and there are equal amounts of red, brown, yellow, black, and white people that get blessed by their programs. Maybe you should take the shades off and open your eyes!

Well, I live in a small town in NY where there are a handful of mexicans and blacks - none of whom are at the Salvation army at anytime. Who is at our salvation army here are the truckloads of poor white trash that live around here.
(Y tu mama tambien.)
