Okay, I don't know what's going on..For the past couple of weeks I haven't had much bowel movement. I used the rest room once last week but none again for another week. Nothing really comes out. I have NO stomach pains BUT my stomach is reallly bloated. Also, I have way too much gas but no bowel movement. This is really bothering me and making me feel uncomfortable. I have been drinking PRUNE JUICE for the past 2 weeks but that didn't do ANYTHING. I ate activia yogurt daily again not working. What could this be? My mom doesn't care. I am only 17. Please help! I have no insurance so I can't go to the doctors.

Laxitive go to the store and get a bottle of milk of maginsa or something like that. It is a mild laxitive take like 3 or 4 table spoons thats what i use and i am 131lbs so it should be good for you. If your diet is crazy it will be to hard on your digestive system and you will get constapated a mild laxitive is cheap and it will fix the problem. You will go trust me it may take a while though eat more fiber and drink more water keep in mind though if you change your diet to more fiber and still nothing then you may have a more serious problem and you should make someone take you to the doctor ESPECIALLY IF LAXITIVE DOES NOT WORK I HOPE I HAVE HELPED YOU AND AS LONG AS YOU DO THIS YOU SHOULD BE FINE OR AND
ONE MORE THING I ONCE BOUGHT A WHOLE BAG OF BABY CARROTS THEY HAVE SOME FIBER I ATE THE WHOLE BAG BUT DOING THIS IT TURNED THE STUFF THAT CAME OUT CARROT ORANGE BECAUSE OF THE BETA CARTIEN ANYWAY

The following foods are good sources of fiber:

Whole grains (bran has the highest fiber content); this includes breads and cereals, whole-grain pastas, and brown rice

Nuts and seeds

Legumes (such as dried peas, beans, lentils)

Fruits

Vegetables

A dietary supplement of fiber products such as Citrucel or Metamucil, which are mixed with water and provide about 4 to 6 grams of fiber in each 8-ounce glass
Why should I eat more fiber?
Foods that are high in fiber can help in the treatment of constipation, hemorrhoids, diverticulitis and irritable bowel syndrome. Dietary fiber may also help lower your cholesterol, and reduce your risk of heart disease, diabetes and certain types of cancer.

How can I get more fiber in my diet?
Try the following ideas to increase the fiber in your diet:

Eat at least 4 1/2 cups of fruits and vegetables each day. Fruits and vegetables that are high in fiber include:

Apples
Berries
Figs Oranges
Pears
Prunes Broccoli
Brussels sprouts
Carrots Cauliflower
Green peas
Beans

Replace white bread with whole-grain breads and cereals. Eat brown rice instead of white rice. Eat more of the following foods:

Bran muffins
Brown rice Oatmeal
Popcorn Multiple-grain cereals, cooked or dry
100% Whole-wheat bread

Eat bran cereal for breakfast. Check labels on the packages for the amounts of dietary fiber in each brand. Some cereals may have less fiber than you think.

Add 1/4 cup of wheat bran (miller's bran) to foods such as cooked cereal or applesauce or meat loaf.

Eat cooked beans each week
Start slowly.
When you first add fiber to your diet you may notice bloating, cramping or gas. But you can prevent this by making small changes in your diet over a period of time. Start with one of the changes listed above, then wait several days to a week before making another. If one change doesn't seem to work for you, try a different one.

Be sure to drink more fluids when you increase the amount of fiber you eat. Liquids help your body digest fiber better. Try to drink 8 glasses of no- or low-calorie beverages, such as water, unsweetened tea or diet soda each day.

Prune Juice isn't going to do it all.
You have to eat more fiber - oats and stuff.

If it's really bad, try 1-2 tablespoons full of mineral oil. It's the oil used on cutting boards to "season" them. It will pass thru your stomach and go thru to your intestines and will get you going again,

If it's not so bad - pick up some Phospho Soda at your local pharmacy and follow the directions. It should get you moving in a short time.

You may also want to try a Fleet enema.

Only you know the norm for your bowel movements.

Cannot imagine that your mother does not care.

If prune juice did not help any - must be a blockage of some type.

Raisins and gummy bears(which are roughage) work well sometimes too.

If you experience any pain or if this persist into this week, must go to your mom with your physical concerns in this.

Hope all works out well! (Sorry, just could not pass it up!)

Shame on your mom sweetie. Well at your age, I only went once per week, and then as I got older I started going every other day and then finally every day, but everyone's different. If it were me, (I'm 47 & female), I would call the doctor and tell them your symptoms and tell them your mom doesn't care and that you can't afford it and see what kind of advice they can give. If that doesn't work, go to the Emergency Room at your local hospital and have someone look at you. Your mom will receive a bill about a week later for their services, but who cares, right ? You need medical attention. I'm not a doctor but 2 weeks or longer without a BM seems a bit out of wack.

Go get a generic stool softener and generic gas-x. Start eating a bowl of bran flakes or raisin bran in the morning and maybe a little at night. Laxatives will probably give you bad cramps, so try to use a stool softener. You can get both at your local pharmacy or Wal Mart. Hope you tummy feels better soon, wish your mom would help you a bit. Take care.

go to a health food store and get "Smooth Move" tea. I'm not kidding; that's what it's called. Cascara Sagrada is an herb that'll work well, too, but it tends to be rather harsh. Drinking aloe vera juice will heal and regulate your G I tract. You likely will also benefit from taking some good quality acidophilous, preferably a liquid: Continental brand is the best.
Good luck.

You may have an impacted bowel, Mara. Please click on the link and read the article.

Two weeks is way too long to go without a bowel movement! If your mom won't help you, you need to find someone who will!! A teacher, a friend or a friend's parents... a minister perhaps. You need to get this treated!

Try eating a high fiber cereal like Raisin Bran or something similar. You definitely are constipated. Try drinking more water or try to drink a cup of warm water when you first get up. Good luck.

See if any hospitals in your area have a free help line; many have them that are staffed by nurses. Try calling such a line, or searching websites for similar assitance.

Get your mother to take you to the doctor. If she doesn't, talk to a nurse or other adult at school that can get you assistance.

You can try a stool softener, they usually get you going!!!
They are available at any pharmacy, and the generic work just as well as the brand names. Also you can use a fleets enema, but I would try the stool softener first.. Good Luck
