I wish I could sue everyone who ever insulted me. What Richards said was disgusting. But sue him, for WHAT. What about free speech. These people did exactly what they should have done when they didn't like what was being said, they walked out. Is Richards racist? in that moment yes. we all are racist at times. j.jackson, farakhan, gibson, m.jackson etc. Grow up, he made a mistake. He should compensate people for the ticket price they paid to see his lousy act, but no more. lawyers, lawyers, lawyers. Is that a buck I smell?

I don't know if he should have to pay anyone because of the remarks but he shouldn't get any more roles or jobs! By M. Jackson do you mean Michael Jackson? If so he has never been racist, he's black!

If you live by the sword die by the sword. Richards was never worth a million dollars an episode. He took the money because he could. If they can get money from him they might as well do it. It seems a legitimate way to seek some punishment for what he said. I see no reason to be showing Richards any sympathy. The only apology he has given was to try to save his own butt. He was rubbing his money in their face so it seems a perfect justice that he should lose some of it to them.
Free speech? Isn't he still free? I don't see him in jail. Why do all you morons start parroting that free speech line when it is other people's free speech you are complaining about.
By the way, the implication that they were hecklers is unfounded. They were a party of twenty that came to celebrate a birthday. Richards made the first rude comment to them and they simply said he wasn't funny.

While I do think that it was disrespectful for him to say what he said, those people should not get money because of it. Besides the fact that they did insult him first( Not that it's justifiable) did the people in the 50s and 60s get to sue because they were called that. As an African American person I don't like the word being used by anyone. Personally i would not want to take someone's money who I felt disrespected me.

Frank...the money - you said it. We're constantly called 'crackas' but can't say anything...I wish Richards would quit meeting every black activist to apologize. He's actually making more out of the situation than is called for. It's like he's groveling and it's got to be humilating for him. Enough....geeze.
Sharpton and his cronies would be out of work if they couldn't find incidents to yell about....publicity and money..bottom line.
So where were all the whites when Simpson killed Nicole and Ron? Blacks were cheering and O.J. doesn't even really like his own race. The joke was on them.
I have a feeling there will be more incidents like this because so many whites, hispanics, etc. are getting TIRED of the babies whose feelings are hurt at being called names. GROW UP.

Yep- you are exactly right. People get what they deserve-it dosen't matter what color or background you are. Kramer told it like it is-so probably they should get the ticket price back seeing they quickly became unsatisfied customers, but good for Richards-Nobody should take any crap from anybody, end of story.

It's all so pathetic. Who gives a rats @$$ if he called a n*ggar a n*ggar!?! I get called a fat ***** now and again too, you don't see me boo-hoo-ing over it. All people are entitled to say whatever they wish rather it's right or wrong. And believe it or not, there are worse things that a person could be besides a "racist" like a mass murderer or a child molester. People need to get over it!!!

I agree. What Michael Richards said was really offensive. However, I don't see how he owes anyone money. Hell, I wish I could sue everyone who'd called me out of my name...
