Square root is the opposite of squaring, right?
x^2 is x squared, and the square root of x is also expressed as x^(1/2).

Next, when taking the exponent of an exponent: (x^a)^b = x^(ab).

So: square root of x^16 = (x^16)^(1/2) = x^(16 * 1/2) = x^8.

With that, you can do the rest.
