ok first to start out, u have -y^2 + 9y - 20

1st step. divide all by -1 -y^2 + 9y - 20/ -1= y^2 - 9y + 20

2nd step. what two numbers mulitply each other to get 20 but also add up to get -9? -5 & -4. (-5 * -4= 20, -5 + -4= -9) and so, (y-5)(y-4) is ur answer

Factor out the -1 so you get -(y^2 - 9y + 20). Factor the polynomial. -(y - 4)(y - 5)

I belive it is -1(y - 4)(y - 5).

-1*(y - 4) = (-y + 4)
(-y + 4)*(y-5) = -y^2 + 5y + 4y -20 = -y^2 + 9y -20
