I mean, it's 8:00 PM, I have a 10 page research paper due tomorrow that's only half done, and I have to give a discussion about a subject I have no sources for yet, and all I can stand to do is ask and answer questions, think about Christmas decorating, and making some supper.

The first thing you need to is..umm..could you wait a moment, brb

Truth is, you need to take that first step. You've already realized you have trouble in this area, now, you can jot down what you'd like to accomplish, by such and such a time/date.. or, just begin with one thing right now. What is the most important thing you need to get done, for YOURSELF. Food I would suppose.. so cook, eat quietly, and enjoy it. Then get onto the next thing..
Take things one step at a time.. But don't necessarily take baby steps.
Most people work best under pressure, until one day it suddenly crushes them. Which happened to me.. now, I put off until later. Only thing is, later never comes.

You need a break and an immediate answer to you problem. Either you have procrastinated until the last minute or you seems overwhelm with work.

If you need to procrastinate further continue doing what you are doing. The best way to procrastinate is to BECOME a "Professional Procrastinator".

If you have procrastinated and dateline is very near, there is nothing you could do about it. If you try to do too much, you fumble and it's definitely does not look good on you. Get your procrastination corrected in the future. Do the minimum (your best shot - consolidate ideas which form concepts; talk instead of write) or delegate.

If you are overwhelm with work, there is nothing you could do about it - you are short-handed. Because you are stressed, overwhelm you think nothing but do things which are unimportant and not urgent.

STOP - Get your feet together, THINK - How can you put INFORMATION into KNOWLEDGE so that your audience can EXPERIENCE it. NOW! CANCEL everything else and Get that inspiration of yours going and going!

That is what I would do. I hope this helps.

The payoff you acquire for procrastinating is maximum in all hazard motives why you finally end up repeating the development. Procrastinators positioned off initiatives until eventually the very final achieveable 2d because of the fact, at that l a s t 2d, there's a burst of power from adrenaline and neurotransmitters released in accordance with the severe rigidity the techniques is below. Procrastinators get a organic extreme, a organic euphoria, by waiting until eventually there is not extra time to watch for ending up the job, if he/she desires to prevail. Many procrastinators are wide-unfold for asserting, "I do my superb artwork below rigidity." it particularly is definitely no longer the actuality, even though it justifies the waiting as a worth reason. the actuality which you're feeling so drained and would quite no longer do the artwork impressive away is yet another factor. in case you're drained each and all the time, it particularly is which you unknowingly watch for the push on the final minute for the reason which you decide on a strengthen out of the common each and every day fatigue. i've got found out the no longer common way that early and stable training certainly prevents the each and every day fatigue to 3 quantity....i'm getting a "2d wind," a clean burst of power because of the fact i'm tackling something that's no longer common and that i understand i'm going to triumph over the job. Now THAT brings an exceptionally solid feeling....and it particularly is plenty extra effective than the final-minute under pressure-out power raise and next power crash. (ok, Saccade, be large!) Consistency is what your physique desires, what your techniques desires, and what you as somebody could discover get away from the ever-cutting-edge psychological fatigue.

First take a break. Then organize your materials and re-read the assignment, maybe there's a loophole on the deadline.

Reread the part you've finished and considered starting a new one on a completely different subject.

Start all over fresh, a new research paper.

Stop and go back to the original paper.

Then, make a list of things you'd need to do if you were actually going to write the paper.

Look at the time. Uh Oh too late you'll never get done.

Or you could get with the program and get it done.

I think you're worried that it won't be perfect, so you haven't really committed yourself to doing the paper. Give yourself permission to do a B paper instead of an A and get 'er done!
