By Sharpie do you mean permanent marker? Bleach may take the stain out, but it will leave a white patch on the sweats. I don't think there is anything that will take a permanent marker stain out of clothing.

When my son was 2 1/2, my husband left him home with me and I was out of it because I had just had sinus surgery. Anyway, my son found a black permanent marker and decorated my furniture. I found Rit super stain remover and I took a tooth bush with hot water and the Marks came out.
If you don't want to go that far, try soaking your sweats in apple cedar vinegar in your wash, it takes most stains out.

Have you tried wet hairspray. I recommend you put the hair spary on it and let it sock in the cold water. This should works it works for blue and black ink pens.
