My son id 10 months old and understands alot. He can give high fives, shake hands, wave bye, understands when he hurts someone and can kinda understand counting. He knows sign language for hurt, eat, and sleep!

I don't think it is selfish to think that. I think that is perfectly normal. Most parents think they have really smart kids. Nothing wrong with believing that yours are special!

No, all parents think that. I think my baby is really smart, the mistake is bragging to other parents about it. My baby has reached all her milestones early so far and though im beaming with pride I do not brag about her to anyone but her dad and grandparents because people can get pretty nasty if their baby is slower then yours and you brag a bout your baby in front of them. I think my baby is smart and adorable and the best but of course I keep that to myself usually.

No not selfish at all I think my daughters are smart, they advanced early, Take pride in what you created, and embrace every moment cuz hunny it goes quick, good luck

Sounds like a well educated child! Children who are stimulated can really amaze you. If more parents spent half that the time stimulating and providing an educating environment for their children, they'd really be suprised what they can do.

hey its not selfish for you to think your son is smart i think my son is smart too, mine is 15 months and knows how to play soccer!! and he knows how to say his abc's not in order though. i always brag about that...
