Don't do the oral gel. That actually numbs the baby's mouth and will go down the throat and because they drool more, cause them to possibly choke. There are some tablets that you can get at wal mart or wal greens or any place like that and it's in a blue and pink box. I don't like the herbal remedies but these work! If your baby isn't sleeping well then try some baby Tylenol at night. If these are first teeth coming out or if your baby does not know how to mash food with his/ her teeth then I strongly advise against the waffles and other frozen foods that were recommended. Whiskey is not a good idea either not because it's alcohol but because of the numbing effect. The wet wash cloth works good! Good luck!

Well being a mother of 5 young adults...I used ora jel...I also used a frozen wash cloth...frozen waffles...teething biscuts and I used a finger dipped in whiskey and rubbed on the gums...which seemed to work the best. Teething is hard...Tyenol is good to give just so there is some pain relief also. We had these water filled rings that your froze and they were awesome. Popsicles are fun but they are messy....Usually anything cold and hard is what that baby will feel best using....

Good luck

look in the baby section in the drug store. they would have any kind of gel type of stuff you can put on your baby's gums. it usually comes in a small round container. also try teething rings with fluid in them. they can be kept in the freezer. when your baby uses those, there will be complete peace and quiet while the baby chomps on the teething ring. good luck. this only lasts a few months.

When my son was teething I wanted to use baby orajel but his doctor didn't like the idea. He just told me I could give him tylenol, and cold teething rings. I also used wet wash rags that I put in the freezer. My son also liked it when I massaged his gums with the bumpy side of his finger toothbrush.

Well, Oragel will wash off quickly with saliva, especially if he is drooling a lot. You can give him ibuprofen (infant advil) if he is at least 6 months old and teething tablets (available in most pharmacies). This combination worked best for my children. I don't like to medicate but I would give it to them before they went to bed so they can get some sleep. Otherwise, cold things to chew on like carrots or washcloths. You can also press on his gums for counter pressure. They don't like it at first but it will help after a minute.

I've been using Anbesol teething gel to numb and tylenol for pain. I have a 10 month old who is going through the same thing.

theres always teething rings, make sure you refrigerate them so they are nice and cold, and you can always give your baby a frozen waffle to bite on, this relly helped my baby alot, and dont forget about the oral gel, also theres some little pellets(looks like dip and dots ice cream) they dissolve in your babies mouth and numbs their gums, they are like candy to the baby, so they enjoy them the name of them are humphreys, they are in a small white bottle.they also helps to put your baby to sleep, so they wont feel the pain.

Baby Orajel works, but it tastes nasty! My kids hated it! Back in the day, my Mom would dip a Q-tip in some whiskey and put it on her baby's gums. It's not like the baby is DRINKING it, but I still couldn't bring myself to do it....
