Congress has moved to the Democrats. Rumsfeld has resigned. His approval ratings show only about a third of American approve of his performance. Stances re: Social Security reform, immigration, and revitalizing the War on Terror in Iraq/Afghanistan have eroded or been shelved. What can Bush do to leave office on a high (or somewhat higher) note?

Taxidermied duck is more like it. As lifelike as Bush may appear, there is no chance he is going to achieve much besides angry underhanded mischief. I will wager he bites when cornered though.

Every president becomes a "lame duck" in the 2 years before the end of their term. But when daddy has to step in to prop him up, he is a "desperate lame duck." God save the USA!

He is more like a dead duck if you ask me, nothing he can do will replace the 655,000 Iraqi that he is responsible for their deaths, and the 3000 Americans that he has killed. Going to war based on a lie was his downfall and there is nothing he can do to salvage that.

Hypothetically, here.

Iraq is going down the tubes no matter what we do. If Bush pulls out because the Dems said so, whose fault is Iraq's failure?

It'd be the Dems because they pulled out and Iraq went down the toilet.

Too bad the parties don't have the intelligence to compromise.

No he is not a lame duck. If the democrates would stop being wishy washy. They want their cake and pie and eat it to but it does not work that way. Bush did what others were afraid to do.
