the media entertainment machine has given us specific parameters on being perfect, plus the bombardment of all the requirements of being cool is separating what is really attractive nature kindness sincerity is it just me ? i feel stoopid for asking

I've noticed this, too. Becoming emotionally involved in relationships is not cool anymore. It's cool to be detached. Add this to the fact that many people are afraid of being labeled "gay" if they display normal human affection, and you've got yourself a society that prides itself on its uninvolvement.

dont feel stupid for asking. i really do agree. I find it is hard to find anyone to connect with. i feel like everyone wants us to be perfect because everything television told us has set a bar that we feel we have to reach. so i feel i cant even connect with myself anymore! its ridiculous.
