I use cakewalk music maker pro. Also, I use the EAX from the Creative Labs soundblaster to do the overall tweaking.

I use Goldwave a lot [goldwave.com to download]. It works well. You can record, change tempos, etc. It's great :D It's free, by the way.

you should use ITunes. use you usb to plug it into the computer and your device should show up. if you need itunes go to apple.com i think check for the right adress good luck.

if u have a mac then probably garageband or Soundtrack Pro
