Well, that's a very good question. A problem like this needs to be handled very, very carefully. What should you do? Ask yourself a question first: What does HE want to do? He wants their help if he comes to this person to talk about it. If it was you he was coming to:
Tell him you want to help, and ask him if you can do something about it. It's very important at that time to get a yes or a no, and make sure it's the truth.
If he's scared, let him know that you'll be there for him. I've dealt with many abused friends, and it took me a while to learn that I can't force my help on them. The more you force your help and question, it could push them away, and they might close you out. Be patient, and when he finally gathers up his strength, take the next step.
The best thing to do is talk to a counselor at school first, if that's an option. That way, you have an adult, AND a whole entire school administration on your side. Then, what has worked best for me so far, is to call a crisis line. They're easy to look up by searching for "abuse crisis phone line" on yahoo. Talk to someone on that line, and they will set you up with an interventionalist or someone else who will help your friend.
The road is risky, but it's the only way. It's the safest way too, and there isn't very many safe ways to go about it. Be careful and be wise, and most of all, be patient. It'll take a while to make everything better. And be a good friend!

Call social services or child protective services. I hate these damn laws that treat families like a special case. Assault is wrong no matter who it's by. Why does assault on a family member merit second, third, and 15th chances? Sorry, you hit my soapbox button. Tell them to call the cops if dad's hitting them. That will get things started so the parents can get parenting classes.

Please tell a instructor, college counselor or depended on person good away. Please do no longer shop this a secret. Her father had no good to hit her and he or she would not deserve this. Please do no longer shop this a secret any extra. next time it may desire to be plenty worst than in basic terms a fulfillment at the back of her neck. I do have self assurance so which you could tell a discern good away. i'm hoping this helps.
