In order for you body to absorb iron you need to take it with Vitamin C like orange juice.
I don't know what your diet consists of but try eating some red meat. Sugar will bring you down once its digested. Carbs are digested first and thats where we get our energy.
Try beans, veggies, and some fruit and some exercise starting out slow. Drink lots of water too.
Hope this helps.

My mom had "anemia" she wouldn't take iron supplements because "how they made her feel". Refused any sort of blood transfusion because she's afraid of getting aids. Anyways it lasted for about 4 years when she finally thought she was pregnant even though she had her tubes tied, so had it checked out. Ended up being tumors in her uterus. Had it removed and everything was fine.
So yeah, no one ever thought of that, but thats what it ended up being. There might be some problem somewhere else that isn't obvious.

You need to report your symptoms to the doc and be sure he thoroughly investigates what is causing your anemia. You also mention no energy so be sure to tell your doc. Be sure you are taking a good mulitvitamin and an antixidant supplement to help you keep your immune system healthy.

I hI was anemic for close to 3 yrs, and there was a lot of times I felt sick and horrible. I slept all the time. I spent my 2week vacation out of the country, sleeping.
I had to take forus sulfate, or somethin like that. But try to change your eating habits, and try a lot of things that havr protein and iron.

Talk to your doctor. It sounds like the current treatment isn't working and you need a different one.

Oh dear.
You need to tell your doctor about this and see if he can make any suggestions about food, vitamins, or other lifestyle changes.
Good luck.
