Just curious. We will probably do it ourselves, but we have a basement that has mold and mildew on two walls and we need to grade the soil....and comments or ideas on how much it would cost them to do the waterproofing on a 1200 sq foot basement?

If you are having problems with mold and mildew it would be very dangerous to do yourself! Besides health problems, the mold will just come back and continue to eat up your basement. Check out these sites, they have a
lot of good information in them for your kind of problem.

If you can get it in your area look for a product called Drylok by UGL. It is a masonry waterproofer specifically for what you are doing. It is a thick portland cement based product that spreads at around 100sq ft per gallon. It should be around $90-$100 per 5 gallon container. A 1200 sq ft room with 8' walls should have around 1100 sq ft of walls to paint. You will need 2 thin coats which translates to about 11 gallons. UGL also has a filler that should be used for large imperfections. I worked at Home Depot for 12 years and never had 1 failure complaint about it. UGL also makes a water based version that doesn't smell as bad.

My guess would be 1.50 s/f to max 3.00 s/f, we waterproof floors and with labor and profit they would have to be in that range. Its hard to say due to the amount of water you have or don't have, could make a difference in which material is to be used.Estimates should be free.Dry-lok makes a product that is easily applied, you can purchase that at Home depot.
