My class is writing a fake news paper on lord of the flies.

this is what ive got so far, i just need to make it sound better and more apealing, or how i can make it better

Three days ago in the court room Ralf Grant attacked Jack Merridew. Grant seemed to be outraged at Merridew and what he was saying, and lashed out on him. Now both of the boys are under custody.
The courtroom started out a hush. There was a murder trial going on and no one could believe what was being said. Jack was asked what had happened on the island. He started to explain how some of the boys on the island died. Suddenly Ralph gets up and screams “You’re such a liar!” His lawyer tried to calm him down. Ralph flied out of his chair in a rage and could barely be stopped. He ran up to the stand almost attacking Jack Merridew but luckily the police restrained him in time.

This is not in the journalistic style of a newspaper. Pick up a newspaper and read the first few paragraphs of any story.

The essential challenge of writing a newspaper story is that it has to be written in such a way that it can be chopped at any point and still make sense. Thus, the most important information comes in the first sentence, then next most important information in the next sentence, and so on. It is not the same as writing for a book. Check out some newspaper articles with this in mind and try to carry that concept over into your own story.

Try reading a few actual newspaper articles to get a feel for the style of writing. Some of the things to remember about newspaper articles is that you describe the overall activity the article is about in the first paragraph. For example:

AP, Flies Island - In a recent courtroom drama, accused murderer Jack Merridew was attacked by fellow defendant Ralph Grant following his deposition in the investigation surrounding the deaths of several boys on the island.
A courtroom environment that had begun in silence erupted into a flurry of activity when Mr. Merridew provided details into the deaths of some of the boys which provoked an outburst by Mr. Grant.

Just continue in that style and you'll do great. What you already have is not bad to begin with, it just needs some polishing. Sounds like a fun exercise!

Oh yeah my freshman of highschool this pizza place got busted for like 20 pounds of weed and other drugs and the police belived that they where putting drugs into the food. so i was at school yard and the news team where trying to get someone to talk to them but nobody wanted to but isaw the camera so i decided hey why not i might get into the paper. so she asked me question about the resturaunt, i have never been there but i lied through my teeth because i wanted to be in the paper so she asked me questions and i just lied. then the the next day sure enogu ha picture of me was on the front page of the news paper. it was the best everyon eat school started to regonize me it was great
