i mean during last year's slam dunk competition josh smith placed a tape a FAR distance from the freethrow line and the judges thought he was going to dunk from there or something and he ended up dunking two hand just in front of the freethrowline...great dunk in my opinion but judges gave him a lousy score(Cant remember what)

i remembered vince carter doing the exact same dunk back in 2000 and WAS nearer to the hoop when he took off and got a perfect 50...what WAS THAT??WAS THE JUDGES BIASED OR WHAT????

And ya nate robinson won when he shouldnt have won so do judges sux??they just let whoever was the "favourite" guy win for example they let vince win because he already had this "IM THE GREATEST DUNKER" opinion around him and nate won cuz he was short and everyone was to see a repeat of spudd webb...and josh didnt win cuz he won before and would be boring to see him win again...SO QUESTION IS DO JUDGES SUX AND IS VINCE AN OVERRATED DUNKER??

Vince in 2000 was the best dunker i've seen in my life. James flight white is 2nd. Only dunker who could give vince a challenge in a dunk contest. Well let's throw lebron in there with those guys too, 3rd. Dude jumped over 7 2 guy in olympics. Hes on another planet. And if you are wondering if judges handecd vince the crown in 2000, did you actuqally watch the contest, and did you really think anyone deserved to win over him? If you think he didnt deserve to win that year then most nicely put your an idiot.

Vince is a great dunker. Remember, the dunk contest was replaced by Two-Ball before Vince came into the League. They brought the contest back for this man. that's how much veryone wanted to watch his air-capades. Overrated? Maybe in a video game sense, but as a dunker he's just straight nasty. And don't get me started on Nate Robinson. It's not rare to see people under six-feet dunk. There are at lerast a dozen here in New Haven, CT that can do some of those things. I'm not taking anything away from him, ok maybe I am, but the dunk that he took 2,345 attempts to put down didn't deserve a 50. If anything, judges are biased towards shorter dunkers. And yes, the judges sucked for a couple of years, but none worse that when Dominque was cheated in Chicago in 88. Jordan did the free throw dunk in a previous round, got a 50, then did it in the finals and got a 50.

No I don't think Vince Carter is overated, as a matter of fact I think he dunks better than he shoot I mean in a real game the dude is bad when it comes to dunking. As far as Josh Smith goes, why di he mark the floor with tape so far back if he wasn't going to dunk from there. Perhaps the judges thought he was being a clown. As for the lil man, whenever a guy under 5'9 dunks or do things on the court that a BIG man should be doing you must give them prom...After all basketball is a Tall mans game. Just the fact that a minature guy can dunk with a lil style is a great accomplishment.

Judges are not Biased at all I've only seen this once which was the Slam Dunk Competition last year with Nate winning. The Josh Smith Dunk was plain it was a whatever dunk. Nate still was amazing a man his size doing that oh my! Did you see him block Yao Ming!? Crazy!

Vinsanity overrated? You wish

Vince Carter owned the competition. He's the best dunker I've ever seen in my life even better then yes people his Airness himself (no disrespect your Airness)

Show your respect to the sanity known as Vinsanity

no he isn't an over rated dunker in my opinion. the reason why the judges scored the two dunks of carter and smith differently is because alot has happened in the dunk contest in the last 5 years and also dunking in general. players get creative in dunking, so a dunk that may have seem to be excellent or innovative 5 years ago may just be a plain dunk nowadays. point is we have seen carter do the 2 handed freethrow line dunk maybe when they saw j smoove do it, they were not that impressed

Vince Carter has in no way been wide-unfold as a grasp shooter in the playoffs. he's barely grasp in the extensive-unfold season. i does no longer say he's hyped up merely because of the fact of two ignored loose throws.
