its not lint, but like on one of my white shirts it has alot of greyish things on it. what causes this to happen and how can i prevent it from happening? (is there some way to wash it...?)

usually this happens to cotton fabrics,most often to the less expensive ones. try washing them without other clothes in the washing machine as the cotton actually grabs the lint off the other garments and sticks on. the only way to get the little balls off is to hand pick um.

Are they pills? Little round balls of something generally found on knit fabrics? You can't do a whole lot unless you handwash everything. They are caused by friction when laundry is in the washer and dryer. Turning your clothes inside out will help to a degree.

its lint you should get a lint roller and roll it over your shrit it shall fix the problem
