2 wheel drive has power at only 2 wheels, 4 wheel drive equally distributes torque to all 4 tires and generally has a HI and LOW gear select, and AWD distributes torque to the wheel that has the most traction. AWD gets its info from the wheel speed sensors and the vehicle speed sensors too. hope this helps

2 wheel drive is when just the rear 2 or front 2 wheels are powering the car. All wheel drive is the same as 4 wheel drive (unless you have more than 4 wheels) and it means that all of the wheels are powering the car.

Two wheel drive means either the front two or rear two wheels get power from the drivetrain. Usually sports cars and luxury cars are rear wheel drive and economy cars are front wheel drive.
Four wheel drive means all four wheels recieve the same torque when engaged. When disengaged only two wheels will recieve power (usually the rear).
All wheel drive is when the car can send power to each of the wheels when necessary by using a series of differentials. Some all wheel drive cars continually have all four wheels recieving power where as others may only have the front or rear recieving power until the wheels slip.

How many wheels power the car... E.G. 4 wheel drive means that all four wheels spin to get the car moving. Front or rear wheel drive means that only two wheels move to get the car moving.. Hope it helps :)

a 2 wheel drive means that only the back wheels does the pulling and a 4 wheel drive once it,s locked in then all 4 wheels does the pulling.
