Why can't celebrities adopt children in the us? there are thousands of kids who need families.

It's more exotic and fashionable to adopt a child from Asia or Africa. It seems that is how they are looking at it since there has been a sudden rash of celebrities adopting kids from these places. The scarey question is, are they really going to be good parent to these kids? With their hectic schedules and life in the limelight? Sure the kid will be rich, but money isn't everything.

1.They won't get the publicity because the conditions in certain places aren't quite as good as in America.
2.They "Don't want to ruin their figure." Putting a little meat on some of their bones would be good for them!
3.They really can adopt kids in the U.S.A. and kids in the U.S. are in need just like foreign kids. I say this with NON-prejudice eyes.
4.I highly doubt that half the celebrities would be good parents anyway
5.They just want to look good going over seas and rescuing a kid. It is all about image for them.

How many of those thousands have you and your extended family personally adopted? I find people who usually ask this question have no idea what it's like to commit to a domestic adoption.
US adoptions favor younger couples; a few foreign adoptions set minimum limits on age, medical conditions and financial status.

no one ever said that celebrities couldn't adopt children. and if im wrong, why not because every child needs a loving family.

well the kids in the US are in orphanages so they have food and board, and in other countries, the kids have parents but they are starving and are sick and celebrities adopt them to make them healthy. And they don't want to get pregnant.

they won get as much attention if they go abroad and adopt its all for attention from the media

I dont know why people get so angry about it. damned if you do, damned if you dont. people get pissed at celebrities for having all that money and not doing enough for the less fortunate, but when they try to help, they get critcized.
