Friends with 3 people, 2 whom are workers for the owner of a business. I saw one of the workers taking money from the cash register and stuffing it in his pocket. This has happened more than once. He is quite sneaky but I did see him do this and have no doubt about what I did see. I feel like I am stuck between what is morally right and minding my own business. I am not great friends with either of the workers nor the owner of the buisness, however in my mind, stealing is plain stealing. What should I do folks. This is tearing me up.

I'd have to say report the person asap and ask to remain anonymous.

If I knew the person well enough and cared for them, I might give them a chance to return the money on their own, but it could backfire. They might realize you're going to tell on them and try to get the jump by saying you took the money.

If you know this, and you aren't reporting it, then you are as involved in the theft as the worker is who took the money. By keeping quiet, you are silently conspiring with him to rob from the owner.

What you should do is, first, confront the worker and give them the opportunity to turn themselves in. This, probably, won't happen, but you want to give them that much. Set a time limit - say three days - and tell them that you will be forced to tell the owner yourself when that time has elapsed.

Good luck. This things are difficult, but I think you already know what you need to do and just wanted the courage to do it.

I would go right to the owner and tell him what you saw or you could be popped with the crime or accessory to it. Tell him how you feel so he can keep an eye on the guy .

I had this very same thing happen I caught an employee putting her hands into every ones locker and purse I caught her in mine .
and I had to confront her told her I would take her hand right off like they would do in her country. yelled loud enough to have people hear. Then I went and told the boss. so they could write her up. she of course denied it but she never again took things from people at the store.

Neither one of the individuals pays you to work there, the owner does. Eventually someone is going to get caught by the owner and if you've been aiding him by not telling, the owner may see that as just as guilty.

Your "Coworkers" not friends and your loyalty is to the company that is putting bread on your table.

What if the floozy pal met up w/ some dude and he had an aggressive pal that truly loved your spouse--you won't be able to be too secure. you could tell alot by the business corporation you save and also you ought to tell your spouse you adore her too a lot and she or he benefits extra useful acquaintances

Do you trust your friend? Or do you have doubts now?

He will eventually be found out, you don't need to cause a crisis. The question to ask yourself is do you still want to be friends with this type of person.

tough spot, to be in, if you confront him you not only lose a friend, but he may try to frame you, because people who do this kind of thing have no scrupples, if it really bothers you, write your boss a anonomous note, explaining what is happening, and who the culprit is.
