im gonna get a 360 and was wonderin if i need to buy a hdtv for it.

that guy HURRIN is totally wrong, the XBOX360 can only output up to 720p and not 1080p. Only the PS3 can output all types of resolutions, yes even 1080p.

You don't need hdtv to play xbox 360 games, but its better to have hdtv. The graphics look better on a hdtv but the graphics still look good on a regular tv so don't worry about it. If you could afford a hdtv then get one.

Only if you want to play the games in High Definition. But, otherwise, no. The 360 outputs 480i, 480p,(standard def.) and 720i, 720p, 1080i, and 1080p(high def.). Games will play just fine on most TVs

They play fine on a regular tv. However its hard to read the on screen text.
