The thing which, if understood, leaves you with no more questions. You quit doing philosophy, walk away with a silly smile, and go make an honest living, like, oh, teaching math to kids.

Truth is judged by those that observe it. I look at an apple and note that it is round, that is a truth yet it leaves out all the other truths that are the apple. An ultimate truth would have to be a universal truth, something everyone could agree upon yet taking in every aspect of the thing, or idea.

I am a scientist and I am religious, but I do not define the "ultimate truth" in religious ways.
The Ultimate Truth is the truth upon which all other truth is based. It is more fundamental than the Grand Unification Theory. It is beyond time and space. It is the universal answer to all “why” questions. It is a single infinite answer that cannot be known.

I am afraid, I am not much of a philosopher, but my first thought was it's a Utopian fantasy. I guess that's because I don't believe in "ultimates" and "absolutes" per se, and truth is quite an abstract concept -- especially in philosophy where lines are not as clearly drawn as in religion. Upon further reflection though, I have to move into the metaphysical world. For me the ultimate truth would be the definite proof of a human being's essence (call it soul) and its survival outside of the body, and thus, after physical death.

The ultimate truth means the very truth of the matter. The unquestionable truth on the matter. There is nothing to hide at all.

Ultimate truth-------"A king may move a man, but the soul belongs to the man. When you die, and stand before God, you cannot say "but I was told to do such and such" or "virtue was not convenient at the time" it will not suffice. Your eternal soul is in your hands, and yours alone"
