Yes, when you buy/bought your ps3, it should come with a wireless controller, or at least now its included in the package. If you are goign to purchase a wireless controller for your ps3, I suggest buying a SIXAXIS controller instead of one of the older ps2 ones, the l2 and r2 buttons seem easier to press.

OK well right before writing the answer down for u i checked on best buy and it says that both of the systems controller are blue-tooth wireless.
