I have been buying and selling on ebay for awhile now and there are no fees. You would probably have to pay a little bit more for canana but no immigration or customs fee(not that i've encountered). Overseas can be very expensive though.

The seller normally tells you that there may be a charge if your parcel is opened by customs. They do not add a charge because 9 times out of 10 your parcel will not be checked but when it is checked you have to pay the fee. This is a rip off by Customs and Excise and earns them millions over the course of a year. I think if they want to open your goods they should wrap it and send it on free of charge. The problem is we have a greedy government that takes every penny it can from us for virtually nothing in return. Sorry this answer is so long it just angers me that we have a money grabbing governmentand whose MPs are on the fiddle.

If you are living in Canada and buy from the US or anywhere in the world and it is shipped anyway other than United States Postal Service you are more than likely to pay a custom fees to have it in the country. I have had many customers from Canada and ship via UPS (brown truck) and items were around $100 and they said they had to pay $30-$50 in tarriff fees. So I would try to see it the sellers could ship via Post Office instead they don't charge you...Thanks

It really depends on what kind of goods you are buying, USED or NEW.

With New,. you might be looking to pay the GST + PST when the package arrives in Canada, because the ebay seller will most likely check "merchandise" on the package.

When you buy USED, you can request the seller mark the package a gift, then you will not have to pay tax on used stuff. You should never have to pay tax for used goods.

Lastly, if you choose UPS, fedex, or purolator for shipping there will most likely be brokerage fees into Canada, so make sure to stick with USPS for all packages.

Yes, you'll most likely have to pay a duty fee. Last time I bought from the U.S. there was a fee of $10-something before I could pick it up at the post office. The time before, it was more, but it was a larger parcel.

I have brought several items for the United States and Uk and had them shipped here to Australia, and I have never had to pay any more then the postage and insurance on it. I think it depends on what it is and how it is marked. If you are buying a bulk lot of stuff you may by liable for taxes.

I can tell you this withsome experience. The seller, on e-Bay, has no control of governmental organizations. You are responsible for the sale price and any shipping and handling charges, which the seller should disclose to you. Insofar as importing anything into another country, the laws of that country apply and the seller has no control. Some sellers on e-Bay refuse to do international selling because of this problem. When a buyer has to pay some sort of import duty, they sometimes complain about the seller, who doesn't write the laws, levy the taxes, etc. for a foreign country.

Look at the item description. If it isn't clearly laid out how much you pay- contact the seller by e-mail first.
