I can certainly see from the answers you've gotten not many people know the history of our great nation, that is most unfortunate.
The South did not break away from the union based on slavery it was a greater issue one of economics one that had to do with 'states rights' and with how much tariffs they could charge.
It all really began to boil over in the Kansas debates of 1848,and spread even into N.Y.
Read crack a book some of you folks sometime read the 'war of the republic' 50 volume set written/published by the United States war Dept. just after the war.
The Northern States also had slavery before during and even after Lincoln's Emancipation proclamation.
In fact the Northern rich states and the U.S. Flag flew over more slavery than the the Confederate 'battle flag',and certainly more so than the poor mostly ag Southern states could ever dream of having.
The South won virtually every major, and minor battle-the South chose to up until the end remain in the South however the North was starving the South, and it had to go north which was the demise of the The Army of Virginia.

The Confederates tried to secede from the Union over the issue of slavery. They adopted the Confederate flag as the symbol of their own pro-slavery country. By waving or displaying this flag, it implies that you support this Confederate country, and the pro-slavery foundation on which it was based. If you don't mind being seen as pro-slavery, feel free to display the Confederate flag all you want; it doesn't change the outcome of the Civil War or the tolerant direction in which our country is slowly but steadily moving.

The Confederacy no longer exists; therefore, the flag should have been retired along and destroyed along with all of the Confederate monies and other artifacts produced by the losing government, such as script, stamps, etc. The flag of the United States of America is what it is...and it is not the flag of the dead, defunct Confederacy. The Confederacy lost the war, had to resume participation in the Union, and therefore lost the right to a separate flag. Are you an American or are you a Confederate? Under the Constitution and the beliefs of our nation, you shall hold allegiance to no other flag over that of the United States, other than that of your own state and that allegiance is secondary to the allegiance to the country. Therefore, flying the flag of the confederacy is disrespectful to yourself and all other Americans.
This is the United States of America, not the Confederacy.
When you were a child you pledged allegiance to the flag, and to the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all...what part of that pledge did you not understand?

I'm assuming you are not this way, but most people are going to assume you are a) a redneck b) a racist c)a KKK member (or wish you were) d)flat out dumb
Technically there is nothing wrong with waving the csa flag, but realistically you are viewed as all the things above by most people unless you trade your truck for an orange Charger.

Some feel that because the South of the US used Slavery, Flying the Confederate Flag endorses Slavery. I find this to be untrue as that was 200 years ago, and the North also used Slavery, just not as long as the South.

there is legend, and a brilliant style of religions believe so, that 2 historical tribes, Gog and Magog (which I in all probability misspelled) have been sealed off in a wall of iron for hundreds of years, if not millennia, and that they've tried to flee ever on the grounds that. they are risky cannibals that are destined to return and wreak havoc while they escape into something of the international! i'm not a non secular student, so i'm not sure if it somewhat is definitely them, nonetheless it might, in basic terms would, be them.

People just think that you believe the south in going to rise again which isn't happening any time soon. And also they think that you don't truly love the United States, but it's your life and it's a free country!

It just offends certain people because of one of the things it use to represent. Namely racism and slavery. You might not be that way but when someone sees that on a vehicle or shirt they automatically think that's what you stand for.

I think the problem that most people have with it, is that it represents a period of time that encouraged/supported slave ownership, and many people don't want to be reminded of that behavior. In addition, many people died during the Civil War, and people don't like to celbrate THAT fact either. Yes, it was a part of history, and no one is asking you to forget about it - they would just prefer you didn't celebrate a sad time in American history.
