Well, when I was a teenager, my boyfriend and his friend said that they always had a nickname for their girlfriends so they had to think of one for me. His friend started just throwing out nonsense words -- English Blue Melon Blueberry Muffin Orange Apple etc etc, and finally decided on English Blueberry Muffin, or Muffin for short. I was Muffin for about a year. Met people and was introduced as Muffin. Soon after that year, I went away and my boyfriend and I broke up. I went back to visit places we hung out about three years later, and was sitting somewhere and heard -- "hey, Muffin!!" and turned to see an old friend. It felt like I had moved back in time or something, or was suddenly another person. Weird. But I liked that nickname.

All that comes to mind is a pet name my aunt called me that I abhorred, and if I told you what it was, I'm afraid that you, and at least one other person, would call me that the rest of my life.
