A cat--they offer affection, companionship and a reason to get out of bed in the morning.

A huge, intricate coloring book and a package of fifty markers--most people haven't colored since they were kids, but it's a really soothing, almost meditative, activity.

A gym membership--you'll feel better after working out, and you'll feel even better in a month when your workouts start to shape your body the way you want.
