Your mom might just not have the money for the lap top right now.

Go to her and tell her that you understand that it is a lot to ask for and tell her that if the money is tight right now that you would be just as happy with whatever she found it in her heart to buy you for Christmas already.

put in some other nice (guilt causing) effects and see if she springs for the lap top.

It's not too much to ASK for, but it may well be too much to expect.
Your mom may simply not have the resources to just give you a laptop for Christmas. And while I applaud your good life-style, that is just good living not something you do to earn a reward.

Soooo...if being given one is a "no", how about working on a compromise? Can you earn part of it? Can you make some sort of deal with your mom?

Sorry to probably disappoint you with the parent perspective, but right now she's the one with the power re. your having a laptop or not. The times my kids have wanted something and I've said 'no' they were most successful with a "What if I..." and a compromise of some sort was eventually worked out.

Good luck.

It might help if you point out a specific laptop model with a reasonable price range or under some sort of promo or discount. This might get your mom thinking more about it.

No but if you know that your mommie or dad can't afford it then you need to maybe work for it show her you really want it and will work for half and she can come the rest of the way. I grow up poor and if my mother saw me saving my pennies to get something i really wanted she would throw in a few extra but since we was poor i then push it i would try first

Get a copy of photoshop and make some undeniably, believable images of what your parents do while you're asleep. Blackmail is a lot less stressful than persistence and usually a lot more fun...
