Do Honda have their own original turbo engine?

Yes. That is in the 1970s (or 1980s?)when Honda used their turbocharged engines in F3(or F1?could'nt recall) racing. Till the rules have changed & turbocharging was banned in F1 & F3. That is the time when Honda came out with VTEC to maximise power gains on their NA engines.

To my knowledge, Honda did not produce any turbocharged engines on their production cars. It was because in the early 90s, VTEC was proved to be very successful in their EG series of Civics in terms of capacity to power output ratio of a NA engine. So they decided to use VTEC as their trademark.

2ndly Honda also believes that turbocharging is not really a proof of engineering exellence because turbocharging is a matter of boost pressure. That's why you see alot of aftermarket turbo upgrade kits. It's a game producing the highest boost pressure without blowing up the cylinder head gasket & cracking the engine block.

^^ Just to let you know, even if Honda was banned from using turbos in the 70's or 80's, VTEC had never been put in a Honda car of that era. VTEC was first introduced in 1993 on the H22 Prelude.

> would i favor, better pistons that surely relies upon on what PSI you dial in > or might want to i purely ambitious it perfect on. you ought to dial the PSI down and learn lots about ignition timing or ecu programming. Or spend $$ by the bucket finished for each visit to the speed save. yet... Turbos' are form of like leaping into the deep end the very first time. perchance you ought to initiate little slowly. i have had ninety 4 Civic EX (for the previous a million 12 months). those days i got here upon out that the timing became develop too a techniques. It had 16 degree (production unit placing) plus better 15 degree of timing (entire of 31 degree). when I took out some timing (to 16 degree & 8 degree better = entire of 24 degree), i spotted large mid variety ability. Then when I set it to production unit 16 degree (entire), i spotted wheel spinning, off the line torque. With 31 degrees of timing i might want to no longer even get the wheels to churp. Now i'm getting the wheels to spin even purely by mistake. I actually have short air intake and exhaust headers. i imagine those are the kind of "first timer" mods you ought to attempt. I discovered lots about engines even as attending to comprehend why my engine knocks (ecu, sensors - MAP, WT, AT, and so on). those are the basics. My next provide up will be a chip improve get some better timing contained in the mid variety with out affecting the off the line torque. fairly some those information will be very sensible if I ever get to compelled induction.
