When I was younger ( a while back now), I rented bedsits in London. The basic layout was a bedroom come sitting room, with an alcove for cooking in. The bathroom was down the hall which one shared with other tenants. The studio,as I understand it, has a separate bathroom and kitchen and whilst the bedroom and living room are combined, the sum of all the rooms are self contained in one unit.

A Studio Flat is just a more attractive way of describing a bedsit - they are the same thing ie. a living room that doubles as a bedroom. Most studios have three rooms - the bed/sittingroom, a bathroom and a kitchen (usually small).

a bedsit is a bedsitting room. Probably wont have own bathroom and have only scant cooking facilities.

A studio is a self contained property, with bathroom and kitchen and another room that doubles as a bedroom and sitting room.

Bedsits are around £50 per week and studio's around £75, assuming you are not in trendy central london.
