I replaced the battery, and did the 7 sec thing as in the past, but it still won't work, automatically, my vehicle is 8 years old,

You say that you have had this car since 1999, did it come with a manual? If so, that's where I'd start first. Most keyless remotes have to go back to the manufacturer or lot where the car was bought when they no longer work. Some have batteries that can be replaced, but this can only be done by the manufacturer. Others have to be replaced as a whole unit and those can be obtained either by the manufacturer or if you know what the specific type, model, etc. is then you could try a site like Ebay. If you don't have a manual to give you the information that you need, then I suggest that you contact the manufacturer first just to make sure because you don't want to end up getting the wrong thing or not having a remote at all.

need to go to the dealer to have it reprogrammed.
depending on the car some part stores can reprogram it to.

Try the key.
In the olden day's we used to use those to unlock doors.
