Wearing pajamas to class is one thing but think about the athlete girls who wear sweats or the college students who roll out of bed for 8 am class and put on sweatpants. Do we assume they are poor ? Or look at them and say "damn I wish I could be comfortable". I'd think you were poor if anf only if you came in to school everyday with ratty clothing and usually the same pieces of ratty clothing, but even then I wouldn't say you're disgusting, being poor is a sickness would you tell a cancer patient they are disgusting for looking like a cancer patient. If you don't want people to assume you are immature, ignorant, or shallow then be careful how you say things.

How old are you? In five years, it won't matter AT ALL whether someone thought you were poor on some random Monday. I guarantee you no one will even notice that you didn't dress up. Most people have better things to think about that what you are wearing to school.

I'm not poor and I wore sweatpants to school everyday except for Friday. On Fridays I dressed up and looked real nice. The rest of the days are pretty much bummy anyways...Why bother?
- No you won't look "too poor". :o)

I wouldn't call it trashy, but I wouldn't quite call it glamorous either. Typically, I'm not a fan of wearing sweats to school. Because it sends the message of being tired, having a long night, or simply not caring. That's not to say that you cannot dress it up though. Maybe you could wear the complete sweat set (if you bought it) or pair it with boots. That seems to be the latest rage at my school, but again... I'm not exactly a fan.

To refer to being "poor" as something "disgusting" is a bigger issue than wearing sweatpants. People think that you are a kid because that is an immature thing to say. Kids do not choose growing up poor.

Why do you care what other people think of you to begin with? If you dress well all the time and then once in a while go to school in sweats I'm sure people won't think you are "poor." Try pairing your sweats with a cute tee or even wearing some cute boot cut type yoga pants, which are flattering and comfy at the same time.

Why are you concerned with what people think about you? You're going to school to learn. It's not a fashion parade. And as for the poor thing, don't ever talk about that unless you've been there. Poor people might see you as stuck up or bourgeoisie. Look that up.

I would save the sweatpants until Friday because that is when people usually have lazy days. Also it depends on the sweatpants. If they are like dirty and have holes then I guess they would. If they are your school's spirit wear then not at all. I guess it just depends on what school you go to.

im definitely not poor but i wear sweatpants all the time! that's crazy to think they'll make you look poor. They're really comfortable and you can make them look good if you wear a top that isn't baggy.
