It is the salt that has bleached your shirts. try soaking them before washing

You could try "bluing". Be careful to follow the directions, or you will turn the clothes blue. You only use a few drops in each load.
You can also let the clothes soak in the water and bleach for a 1/2 hour. If you don't like the bleach smell, you could re-wash afterwards.

Sponge the stain with ammonia. If the stain is old, sponge with distilled white vinegar.
Pre-soak in cold or warm water. Wash in the hottest water safe for the fabric.
If the fabric is yellowed, use bleach.
If the stain still remains, dampen & sprinkle with meat tenderizer or pepsin. Let stand 1 hour, brush off & wash.
For persistent odor, sponge with colorless mouthwash.

wash a full size load and pour in 1/2 cup chlorox bleach. this is clean the shirts and the stains
